As the magazine’s readers are active on social media, I decided that not only should facing pages sit nicely together, but the layout of whole articles should be designed to maintain a nice flow. This allows for smooth transitions when the articles are posted as carousels for promotional purposes on Instagram.

While the design and photography featured in this project is my own work, the example article features copy taken from the Mountain Bothies Association website and the wonderful Bothy Bible by Geoff Allan. Both of these resources were incredibly helpful during my research for this project.

Richard Gaston’s photography and Studio Faculty’s redesign of Cereal Magazine were key inspirations for this project.
